What is Your Vision?

Just like a business, every Artist should have a vision. Without a vision the people perish. Without a vision your music will be hodge-podge and confusing. I have struggled to ‘find my voice’ as an Artist for the last 3 years. I have created Jazz tunes, Country tunes, Pop songs, New Age, and more. And finally I am finding my way. We all have an image. We all have a calling. We all have a gift. Now what are you going to do with it?

Here are some questions to ask yourself to write yours:

  1. Who do you want to reach with your music?

  2. Who are you writing to?

  3. Who is your target audience?

  4. What effect do you want your music to have?

  5. What Genre are you choosing for yourself?

  6. What is your story?

  7. What have you overcome?

  8. How can you minister hope to others in your music?

  9. What do you want to accomplish this month, this next 6 months, this next year? Write it down.

Here is a great example of what a Mission Statement and Vision Statement look like. Yes, it’s from a Nonprofit Organization – they know how to write!
